Ministries at Saint Paul's
We have the following active ministries
- Acolytes & Lectors
- Acolytes assist at the altar on Sunday mornings and other special liturgies. Lectors read the scripture readings from the Hebrew Scriptures, Psalms and the Epistles at the Eucharist on Sundays, Wednesdays, & special occasions.
- Altar Guild
- The members of the Altar Guild assist the clergy in preparing the altar and nave of both the main church and Our Lady of Grace Chapel, as well as cleaning up following the different liturgies.
- Choir
- The Choir sings on Sunday mornings and special occasions. Choir practice is on Wednesday evenings at seven o'clock, most of the year. Check our Parish Calender for details.
- Daughters of the King
- The Daughters of the King is a prayer and service organization composed of confirmed lay and ordained women from the churches of the historic episcopate. Our chapter is named for Deaconess Lillian Crow who was instrumental in founding our parish.
- Episcopal Church Women
- The Episcopal Church Women of Saint Paul's is composed of all female communicants of the parish.
- Flower Guild
- The Flower Guild arranges the flowers and other plant decorations for the altar.
- Lay Readers
- Lay Readers are specially licensed members of the laity who are trained and authorized to lead the Daily Offices of Morning and Evening Prayer.
- Saint Paul's Neighborhood Outreach Committee [SPNOC]
- Our Neighborhood Outreach Committee is in charge of our food pantry and other outreach efforts. SPNOC is partially funded by two annual parish rummage sales, typically held in May and October.
- The Vestry
- The Vestry is the elected governing body of the parish. Think of it as similar to a board of directors or a small town council. Members are elected to three year terms at the Annual Meeting, with about one third being elected each year.
